Energy Efficiency 8+ Star Home
Recently handed over from the builder is this large family home in a Bush setting. The home exceeded an Eight (8) star rating using FirstRate5 software and included an ideal orientation, high performance Thermally Broken windows, Earthwool insulation, AND internally sealed rooms to minimise penetrations through the external building fabric, and is installed with a Heat Exchange System. A blower door test revealed a better than five (5) air change result.
The build cost of the project was significant but not out of reach. Hopefully, future projects can further these types of results without impacting livability and residential functionality.
Composite Clad
A beautifully finished family home completed by Status Homes features a facade of multiple materials including natural timbers, weatherboards, and brickwork all combining to a fabulous result that feels embedded into its location.
Distinctively Timber
Within the Insignia Development on the Western side of Ballarat is this distinctive timber-fronted home. The external lines are simple, however, the plan is carefully crafted around a reasonably complex shaped site and the living requirements of the family.
Seeing this home in a photograph is impressive, seeing it in reality is exceptionally stunning.

Two Storey Hampton style
Located in Brown Hill, this home was completed in early 2020 and is a home designed for genuine household living and with large family spaces and Alfresco opening to the North and to amazing outlook.
The ground floor features Master Bedroom and all family necessities and the First Floor containing another North facing Living space and three further Bedrooms.
This beautiful home and the builder (Vision Building Group) were nominations in the 2020 HIA awards.
2019 HIA Award Winner
Vision Building Group was, in late 2019, awarded the HIA Best Home under $350,000 (South West Region) for this beautiful Ballarat Home. The judges highlighted a very modern home, internally blending old and new to create a very functional and efficient home that nestled very well into its surrounds. The design work was a result of very smart and significant input from the owners, which included a very distinct vision of the final product.
The Former Ugly Duckling Transformed
This little gem in a high-profile Ballarat heritage location has come to life after many years as a run-down abandoned house. The owners removed the aluminum claddings, flat lifeless verandah roof, and internal linings. With the addition of a new Alfresco deck, rear extension, and a completely renewed interior, the home has been transformed. New look, new life.
Contemporary Design
Located in one of Ballarat's newest residential areas, the home pictured takes centre stage facing onto the thoroughfare of Remembrance Drive.
The home has four bedrooms, multiple living zones, very generous kitchen and butler’s pantry, as well as a large Alfresco area. Constructed by Quattro Homes Ballarat, the finish is striking with multiple sharp lines and recesses and monolithic render sections and face brickwork.
Sloping Site Development
In Newtown, overlooking the Barwon River, is this development/investment property. The home is on a site that has a staggering 6-metre fall from the front of the site to the rear of the building envelope with the garage located below on the second of four levels.
The façade and general claddings are lightweight in nature. The construction was cost-efficient considering the complexities involved and a pleasing result. The client and builders input was crucial in the flowing of the project.
Craftsman Grandour
On the South Western outskirts of Geelong is this stunning home featuring a well organised and laid out floor plan and many features typical of the Craftsman style. It offers large north facing Living and outdoor Dining spaces, large attic room and the external features include face stone and blockwork, timber detailing and an outlook over an undulating topography that is simply stunning.
Dual Occupancy Development, Barwon Heads
The small block in Barwon Heads provided for interesting design opportunities for knowledgeable clients hoping to achieve a residential dual occupancy development. The resultant design eludes progressive boldness with a blending of lightweight timber claddings and monolithic-type straight lines. Internally finished with a similar emergence of strong lines and natural finish. Large north-facing living rooms and raked ceiling finish the homes off beautifully.
Residential Unit Development
The site in question provided a number of planning and organizational complexities. The intention of the final development was not determined at the time of design, whether it be short-term rental accommodation or individual titles and sold from the plan. These factors made the design process challenging. The front of the site retained an existing brick residence requiring car parking facilities and outdoor space requirements, adding to the many issues to take into account. The final result was very pleasing.
Renovation/Addition
Formerly a 12-sq rectangular mid 70's brick veneer, and with the incredible foresight and construction savvy of the owners, we managed to achieve this luxurious family home in a popular beachside township.
Extensions and Alterations
This beautiful but older style home in a leafy Melbourne suburb underwent a major change when the new owners, with a ton of ideas and tasteful plans, decided to remove the roof section and its remaining attic rooms to create a larger upper-storey section providing for four additional rooms, entirely reconstructing the roof, and building a large lounge/dining/kitchen room to the left of the image.
The final result is the stunning home in the photograph.

Like modern and contemporary design, sometimes you are after a design that recreates a previous generation revival. We can recreate any style with all the additional small detailing to make a home look the part, but at the same time retaining sustainable integrity.
This project offered some discussions and consultations with Heritage Departments for both the removal of the existing weatherboard as well as the for the new design and façade.
